Esè Azenabor x James Lane Post

Esé Azenabor-Grembowski was bold to put Africa on the map, and making Nigeria proud. The Nigerian born desinger, Canadian transplant, was artistic enough to integrate her culture and contemporary European influences to produce the most opulent ready-to-wear and bridal Haute Couture brand. Her collections exude  elegance, her embroidery work is exquisite and the craftsmanship radiates sophistication. Art lovers will appreciate this meticulous craftsmanship, that goes into all her bespoke garments. She stands out hand beading with fine crystals, swavoski and Japanese stones, pearls, she also does hand embroidery on French lace, one cannot doubt her exquisite good taste.

Ese has gained a large following over the years for her opulent work, over the top grand wedding dresses and ready to wear collections

The Self-taught designer, college drop out, who is now the most sought after by bridesmaids round the globe, stylists and Hollywood celebrities, launched her self-titled line year 2012 in Dallas where her flagship store is. She started off making clothes for family and friends for fun and to make extra money little did she know she is paving her way to destiny and a glamorous life.

Her big break was 2015 when a client prominent in the jewish community, ask her to design a spectacular wedding gown for her which later on  went viral, catapulting her wildest  dreams coming true.

Her first bridal collection started 2020, according to interview on the New York Times she says Bridal gowns expanded her creativity and challenged her to make a white wedding dress pop, like one in colour would. She expanded her brand opening a fabulous boutique store on Madison Avenue during New York Bridal Fashion Week in April 2023 and recently opened a boutique in Southampton on Jobs Lane, in August.

Her work is with no doubt remarkable, impeccable and outstanding, I am astonished at the amalgamation of cultures and in love with her choice of fabric, the attention to detail and refinement that goes into her craftsmanship.
